Joseph Zbukvic began his painting career in 1978 and quickly became one of Australia's top artists.Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Joseph emigrated to Australia when he was eighteen and has since won over 200 international awards with over 40 solo shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, London and San Antonio.Joseph has the ability to create a magical atmosphere in his paintings, made mostly from life. The watercolor is the means by which he has chosen to express himself, portraying different subjects; in this small selection he presents urban subjects: from the streets of Melbourne to Paris, describing them with quick and precise strokes, reproducing reality faithfully, but not giving up a good dose of poetry.
